There will be Frisbee, soccer, chatting, eating lunch, and just hanging out together. Plan on bringing your own lunch - or you can head to your favorite drive thru and pick something up on your way. All ages are welcome and please invite a bunch of your friends.
- August 1 - Hanging Out @ Anderson Park. Lots of grass and shade and an awesome playground.
- August 8 - Worship @ Tolt McDonald Park. You'll not want to miss this one. We'll be having our Sunday morning worship service, picnic and more!! You don't have to bring your lunch to this one but do bring your camp chairs, games, djembes (and other instruments) and friends!!

Church in the Park
Creekside is having our Worship Service in the Park on Sunday August 8, at Tolt-MacDonald Park Barn Shelter in Carnation. Bring your camp chairs, games, djembes (and other instruments) and friends.

NPC Women's Retreat
REGISTER BY AUGUST 11 for the 2010 North Pacific Conference Women's Retreat and save $10. We already have a number of Creeksiders registered and hope to have more. This year's retreat is September 17-19 at Cascades Camp in Yelm. Keynote speaker is Judy Howard Peterson, pastor for North Park University in Chicago who walked across the United States while attending seminary. Online registration is available at www.npc-cwm.org. Just mark that you want to stay in the cabins and then identify "Creekside" as the church you want to stay with. If you have any questions, contact Barb Boyd, boyd.bj@comcast.net.
YWCA School Days Program
Each year, hundreds of local youth from homeless and low-income families start school without even the most basic school supplies - pencils, paper, crayons, backpack, new shoes, etc. This year the YWCA School Days program expects to provided school supplies and essentials for 1,300 low-income homeless children and teens. They are collecting $35 per student to cover the cost of each age-appropriate backpacks filled with school supplies. They also are collecting school supplies for students that enter their programs during the school year.
We’d like to at least support the three students in the apartment we sponsor. One is at the Junior High and two are at the High School. We need to cover the three backpacks ($35 each), provide a gift card for a back-to-school outfit ($100 each), and provide each of them with a USB thumb drive and a Graphing/scientific calculator (TI-83 Plus or TI-84 Plus). Here’s how you can participate …
- Financial Donation
- Fred Meyer Gift Card
- USB Thumb Drive
- Graphing/scientific calculator (TI-83 Plus or TI-84 Plus)
- Extra School Supplies
Supplies and donations are due TUESDAY, AUGUST 17! Questions? Contact Lynn (lynnf@ecreekside.com or 425-376-1111 x40).

Help Make Sack Lunches
Amy Lanum teaches at John Muir Elementary School. This is a school that serves of lot of kids from Kirkland Heights, a low-income housing development. This summer, she and another teacher are having a weekly book group at Kirkland Heights for many of her former students that are going into 4th grade next year and their siblings. They have between 25-30 kids and are providing lunch for them and helping many of them with their conversational English. They are also loaning them books to read this summer and perhaps give to younger siblings when they are done. Many of them have parents that work on the farms for the Farmer’s markets around the area and are not able to take their kids to the public library.
Creeksider are providing lunches for two of these book groups - Wednesday, July 21 and Wednesday, August 11. A lot of these kids don't eat well in the summer because they aren't at school so this is a great opportunity. We'll meet at the CMC to put the lunches together.
Please contact Kim Hjelm at kim.hjelm@gmail.com if you would like to participate and/or donate money towards buying supplies.
